1. The Dr. Aura-Lee A. and James Hobbs Pittenger American History Scholarship.
This Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) American History Scholarship is in place to help female freshmen in history and government studies. The DAR is dedicated to U.S. history, and as such it provides two renewable scholarships worth $2,000 each to U.S. students pursuing degrees in the field.
2. New York Women in Communications Inc. Foundation Scholarship Program.
The New York Women in Communications Foundation (NYWICI) provides opportunities each year for female communication students to obtain scholarships. The Foundation awards 15-20 scholarships annually in $2,500, $5,000 and $10,000 amounts. Recipients include high school seniors, undergraduates and graduate students studying in the communications field. Awards are based on several factors, including a minimum 3.2 GPA, U.S. citizenship, academic excellence and more. The program is designated for residents of NY, NJ, CT and PA.
3. The SWE Scholarship Program.
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Scholarship Program is designed to encourage women in engineering, engineering technology and computer science fields of study (STEM studies). Individual awards vary from $1,000 to $10,000 and are available to high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate level students. SWE scholarship funds are provided via company sponsorships and donations, with sponsored scholarships being presented in the fall and donated funds awarded in both fall and spring.
4. Jane M. Klausman Women in Business Scholarship.
The Women in Business Scholarship, provided by Zonta International, is available to women pursuing both undergraduate and graduate degrees in business studies. Established by member Jane M. Klausman in 1998, this award gives funds to both national district and international club members for college. One $1,000 award is presented to a member of each U.S. district club and 12 more $5,000 scholarships are awarded to international recipients annually. Applicants must be pursuing and demonstrating excellence in business and also be nominated by their district club.
